Adelaide Advertiser review -

Adelaide Fringe Festival 2016.

****½

THIS is a stylish, unusual, and imaginative revue conceived by Sarina Del Fuego from London who appears in several tastefully choreographed and costumed striptease segments. Banish all thoughts of tawdry peepshows, this is silver service with smoked salmon and Moet.

Music is supplied by Michael Wheatley’s quartet with the leader on keys expertly delivering soul-infused vocals like Moon Over Bourbon Street, Black Coffee, Stormy Monday and several originals.

A black and white back screen provides continuity using hard-bitten narration in clever Raymond Chandler style with images of Bourbon bottles, cigarette smoke, faces in close-up etc; a witty take on 1940s Hollywood noir.

Four female dancers appear in various artistic costumes and sequences: sophisticated striptease, creative dance, a gravity-defying contortionist pole dancer, and more.

"Noir Revue" (cabaret)

Darker than shadows and steamier than a warm lamplit street after the rain, Noir Revue takes you back to a time when men were men and femmes were fatale. Step back into the age of jazz and Film Noir for a night of heartbreak, loneliness, anger and sadness from tragic beauties, sinister fellows and dames you wouldn’t want to mess with.

These dark, bluesy performers of dance and song will entertain and seduce you, then hit you with their killer cabaret. Join them for an evening of noir, nostalgia and maybe even some nudity.

Noir Revue is a Film Noir-inspired, blues-soaked cabaret with live band, narrated by an unseen detective (written and portrayed by Benito Di Fonzo).

Featuring aerials (tissu and single point trapeze), cabaret, burlesque, blues crooner and film. From 2010, Noir Revue has toured the Sydney Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Dundullimal Historical House in Dubbo and sold out the Spiegeltent for Canberra’s Centenary. In 2014, Noir Revue completed a two week tour playing at Slide Cabaret Lounge (Sydney), Lizotte's (Newcastle), The Vault (Wollongong), The Abbey (Canberra), The Carrington Hotel (Blue Mountains) and Byron Bay Theatre (Byron Bay). Returning to touring in 2016, playing a sold out season at Noodle Palace for Fringe World, Perth, Nexus for Adelaide Fringe and again selling out The Famous Spiegeltent situated in front of Canberra Theatre Centre.

"Noir Revue was polished and thoroughly enjoyable old-world buffet of talent and sizzle that had me all a flutter. I left the theatre most assuredly wooed. I could have easily taken seconds, and gobbled them down."  Unfringed Australia

"Noir Revue promised us dark tragic beauties & troublesome fellows…this they delivered and more…wonderfully stylistic" Absinthe Australia
